The Gold Coast is a great place to cycle as a commuter, and even better as a sightseer. The local council has placed an emphasis on bicycle infrastructure, so you'll find plenty of bike paths linking the coast and inland areas of the Gold Coast.

The Kedron Brook bikeway is a scenic corridor along the Kedron Brook. A relatively short ride, but connects to the Moreton Bay Cycleway for a longer adventure.

The Jim Soorley Bikeway currently connects the Moreton Bay Cycleway to the Kedron Brook Cycleway through the wetlands between theGateway Motorwayand Brisbane Airport.

Nudgee Beach is a small costal town west of Brisbane, and is a popular cycle destination on weekends. It's not a built up tourist area and it is a mud beach, but its charms lay in the costal atmosphere.

The Brisbane Valley Rail Trail (or BVRT) is a 161 km off-road bike trail following the route of the old Brisbane Valley rail line, and is the longest trail in the country.

The trip to Lake Samsonvale is roughly ten kilometres from Petrie station, and is cycleway for the most of the journey.

Get out of the city and ride to Samford along the Samford Link Rail Trail.

The Moreton Bay Cycleway runs through the Boondall Wetlands between the Entertainment Centre and Nudgee Road.
